Q: Please describe your role in the company and why it is important. 

A: I have the wonderful opportunity to support the management teams of our captioning centers, both domestic and internationally. I’m also tasked with initiatives to improve the experience for our employees, as well as the customers. I view the importance of my job in a simple statement: “How can I make your job better/easier?”

Q: What do you bring to your role that adds value to the company?

A: I have a unique resume that includes titles ranging from  College Admissions to Pricing Analyst to Construction worker/Business Owner to  ASL Freelance Interpreter. Being the oldest sibling of 10 kids with 3 in the group being Deaf has also given me a perspective that keeps me connected to the services we provide.

Q: What does the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) provide for people who are Deaf and hard-of-hearing? 

A: For me it provides the opportunity and technology to talk with my Deaf brothers and sister in the same manner as I’m able to communicate with the hearing members of my family. In addition, it provides equal access to services for Deaf and hard-of-hearing people to services we may take for granted.

Q: Please describe how regulations (the government rules) impact what we do as a company.

A: While some regulations may be challenging upon implementation, I believe it allows for greater use of the services for more individuals and provides more options for  communication.

Q: What is the greatest challenge you have overcome – or are still overcoming – in your work?

A: LOL! “Challenges” – there are many! I think one that will always be a focus is how to help everyone I work with feel valued. 

Q: What is the best part of your work?

A: My two-part answer: The mission of the company, and the fantastic team I get to work with every day!
