How was your summer? Did you get the chance to spend time out in the sun? With it getting colder these days you may find it more difficult to want to get out and exercise, however it is essential for your hearing and overall health to make sure you keep moving. For many people, walking around the neighborhood or doing some gardening are ways they can get out and move around, but both can be challenging as it gets colder. Here are a few things you can do to stay active this winter:
- Don’t be afraid to bundle up – We talked about this last time but it really is an option. Even as it gets colder, as long as the sidewalks are still safe from ice feel free to grab a friend and take a couple of laps around the block.
- Find an indoor pool – Frequent a community pool and you will find it does wonders for staying active. Schedule a day once a week and take a dip!
- Yoga – This is something you can do on your own at home or find a local class being offered. It’s relaxing and a great way to move your body while staying inside. https://captioncall.com/ccblog/yoga-and-aging/.
Don’t let the cold slow you down this year. Being active does wonders for your heart and mind, and actually can have a positive impact on your hearing health. We highly recommend staying physically active this winter season. You’ll be glad you did!
