Planning on going to a concert? Bring your ear plugs! Ear plugs are the most efficient way to make sure you don’t suffer any hearing damage. Also you may want to go easy on the alcohol. According to a recent study, drinking has been tied to “dangerous behaviors” related to hearing loss such as standing too close to loud speakers. The article also brings up a study from the seventies that found that "alcohol reduces the protective action of the acoustic reflex in persons with normal hearing” which makes it harder for the body to protect itself from damage to your hearing.
The study did find though that you are going to have a much better time protecting yourself if you get those ear plugs. They are a simple way to keep your hearing healthy while enjoying the music.
