What is IP CTS?
Internet Protocol Captioned Telephone Service (IP CTS) is a specialized telephone service for people with hearing loss. It uses captioning agents and digital technology to send visual captions of a phone conversation so a user can read what the other person is saying.
The American with Disabilities Act (ADA) makes IP CTS available at no cost to people with hearing loss who have trouble using the phone. A federal government program funds IP CTS providers including CaptionCall, so there is not cost to the user for services.
